Fall has certainly fallen and we are here for it. We’ve launched or seasonal Gore and Lore Tours, and now we are very excited to bring you tours involving another sort of spirits… boooooo-ooze!
Corny jokes aside, we are super excited to partner once again with the fabulous folks at Chuckanut Bay Distillery to bring you tours of their amazing facility.
We ended our tours at the Distillery back when they were a back-alley joint underneath Rumours Cabaret in 2017. We would take our tour-goers down the alley, and with a secret knock on the door, prohibition style, get admitted for a round of tastings. As far as we know, Chuckanut Bay Distillery may be Bellingham’s first and only (legal) distillery!
We are excited to have watched them grow and expand their operations into an amazing historic building in the heart of downtown Bellingham on Cornwall Avenue. Watching the restoration over the past few years has brought us joy.
Matt, Kelly and the Chuckanut Bay team have their hands FULL distilling all the award-winning spirits, so they asked us to help with the tours so they can focus on what they do best. We’ve been learning about the distilling process, and bringing our own historic research skills into the mix, concocting a tour that has a little something for everyone – including cocktails!
We’re starting out with public tours on Saturdays at 4 pm. Masks are required and tour sizes are limited at this time for the well-being of everyone.
The tours last around an hour and a half and include a tour of the facility with history of the building and a walk-through of the distilling process, as well as a sample cocktail and complimentary Chuckanut Bay Distillery shot glass.
