BellingQueerstory - Queer History Tours

It’s Pride Month and we’ve got BellingQueerstory Tours leading up to Bellingham Pride in July!

Explore Bellingham’s Queer History with a walking tour around downtown. From early 20th century vaudeville “impersonators” to the first “pride” events we’ll share the stories from the LGBTQ+ archives that have shaped the city we know today. Includes a special performance by Bellebrity Drag Queen Betty Desire! 21+ tickets include drink specials at the end of the tour at the iconic Rumors Cabaret. Under 21 welcome for the main tour (Adult content - discretion advised).

Our first collab went so well that we’ve added another date for the Spirits of Sehome Tour!

Join the Good Time Girls and psychic Charles Crooks of Bellingham Ghost Tours for a special evening as we explore gruesome history of Bellingham’s Sehome neighborhood and reach out to its ghosts for answers to unsolved mysteries. Discretion advised with a content warning for topics of death and violence.

A guided walking tour of Bayview Cemetery, founded in 1887. We’ll explore the history of the cemetery and how it has changed over time, visiting the older sections of the cemetery and some of the most intriguing monuments. We’ll say hello to a lot of interesting folks who were laid to eternal rest in days of yore. Content Warning: Death, of course.

Explore Bellingham’s waterfront with a walking tour around the Old Town District. Learn about Bellingham’s maritime history including the evolution of our town’s shorelines, ships that graced our harbor, sailor’s favorite port pastimes, deadly rumrunner encounters, elusive sea serpents and more.

Stroll through one of Bellingham’s oldest neighborhoods with our guide and hear tales of pioneer families, Victorian houses, parks, schools, churches, stores, and more. The tour runs around an hour and a half and covers less than 1 mile in distance. Suitable for all ages and sensibilities. Further details available upon registration.

We’re launching History Happy Hours - and in July we’re kicking things off with the iconic HORSESHOE CAFE!

Sip cocktails while the Good Time Guides present historic tales of Bellingham’s legendary Horseshoe Cafe - “since 1886.” We’ll explore its beginnings as a saloon, the dry years as a "Smoke Shop," the midcentury cocktail lounge era and beyond, and meet some colorful characters along the way.

This event features a slideshow, games and good times. Food and drink specials including an event-exclusive flight featuring cocktails of bygone eras.

July 17th in the RANCH ROOM at the Horseshoe Cafe

We are excited to Join the Whatcom Museum on the bay for a brand-new season of their Summertime History Sunset Cruise. Set sail with local historian Kolby LaBree from the Good Time Girls for a cruise filled with breathtaking scenery and captivating regional history.

In partnership with San Juan Cruises, these weekly cruises will run every Tuesday from July 8 through August 26, 6 – 8 PM.


We are excited to share the history of Western Washington University on this guided walking tour of campus. We will visit historic buildings and landmarks and tell fascinating historical tales from the Sehome coal mines through the establishment of the "Normal School” and beyond.
